Guest Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 I am close to getting this bloody site launched, cart wasnt quite done yet but I figured I may as well upgrade to the latest stable version of OSCommerce before I go any further. The new layout is much cleaner than 2.1... Sooooo I upgrade. &%$# The site has now blown up. Everything is in shambles. If anyone has any suggestions as to what the hell I did wrong...and more importantly, how to FIX IT...please let me know. My Webpage Thanks much -Roq
Guest Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 trace through your site logs and it will tell u more of what is going on. also, how did you install? you mentioned upgrade, did you do any programming changes on it? or just try to copy it over the top of your old site.
Guest Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 Went a bit like this: Created new folder at ... /catalogue and uploaded stuff Added new database called catalogue_fromaphrodite_com (original was simply catalog_fromaphrodite_com) Attempted to install NEW store from scratch...worked but it refused to use my older sql database that I had saved..gave me error about not being able to find session in database. Lost temper decided to upgrade the old database since new features in admin were ones I wanted. Site turned inside out. I havent done any programming changes to it. I didnt copy over any old files with new ones...Do I have to do that? If so, which ones? -Roq
