hyperizer Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 Is there an easy way to allow the administrator to insert orders for an existing customer? I have a client who conducts a lot of his business via email and would like to be able to create orders himself. I wasn't able to find a contributed patch that does this. Thanks!
Guest Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 I am confused about your request. you state you have a customer who sends in emails for orders. then you state he wants to be able to enter the orders himself, along with stating wanting an admin to enter the orders for him. for your peace of mind, i would think you would want the customer to enter the order himself to preclude anything being shipped incorrectly. else another way to do it is to create a user name for that specific order that you know, login as that user and place the order for the customer. then email him a copy of the order for confirmation.
Noobish-n-stuff Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 yes, i agree with Mibble. Either set up an account for the customer and tell them what the log/pass is or have him set one up and have him give you the information. that's the easiest way to do it.
hyperizer Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 Sorry I was unclear. It's the admin who receives requests via email and would like to enter orders in the system. I already installed Nuno Chaveiro's "Account create in admin" contribution, but now I need a way to create orders in admin too.
Tony Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Hi Have you managed to find an answer to this ? I am also finding an significant number of customers do not want to register, (why ? who knows!) but they dont and they then email me asking me to tell them how much, shipping etc and they want to transact via email. So rather than burn them, I am wanting to hit on an admin panel, add a customer with a standard password, and then enter an order for them. This way I get their details in with everyone else, and correctly allocate stock, etc. without actually needing to use the standard user account_create, login as user, create order, do checkout, close account, swap to admin.... yadayada... Any more info would be appreciated. Is anyone doing this ? cheers Tony cheersTony******************************My oscMax Store RecoverToy :: Antique Toy Car PartsTony's Tech BlogWrenMaxwell WebManagement******************************
Tony Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Hi again Answering my own question... http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1589 The reason I didn't find this earlier is the name of the contrib did not quite match my search terms. Its called "osCommerce Step-By-Step Manual Order Entry" I haven't tried it yet but it reads like it should do the trick. Thread is http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61877 cheers Tony cheersTony******************************My oscMax Store RecoverToy :: Antique Toy Car PartsTony's Tech BlogWrenMaxwell WebManagement******************************
