ellisj Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 I have managed to install OS and everything was working perfectly. I am a total beginner!! However, I have made a few amendments as per the instructions and other problems that have been experience by people in this forum. I am stumped as to what I have done here though. When I click on the picture of a shop item the link takes it to a general error page. It also does this when I click on a manufacturer, shipping instructions etc etc. I must have done something, but I can't locate where Can anyone help me?!! Cheers

crash3903 Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 do you have the 3 images contribution installed by any chance as the images is showing a path of http://www.tailliftspares.com/images/thumbs/0-7.gif and it should be http://www.tailliftspares.com/images/0-7.gif regards mark Regards Mark A Reynolds
ellisj Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 I have ms2 max version of oscommerce. If the images 3 contribution is with this. I am still getting some error messages on links such as the login.php and create account link on the main page I also need to upload around 2000 parts, their corresponding part numbers and images. What would be the easiest way to do this? I also need to amend the tax to UK vat @17.5% I cannot find where to alter this for the life of me.
ellisj Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 Arrrrggghhhhhh, I have also edited the currency to GBP although this does not appear anywhere on my site
ellisj Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 Ignore the currency issue, I've sorted it! ; - )
crash3903 Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 sorry for the delay you can alter the tax in the localization screen - you set the new tax up in there not sure about the 3 images thing i run ms2 non max lol! regards mark Regards Mark A Reynolds
sgflowers Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 ellisj do you have search engine friendly urls set to true ? If so set it to false and you will get rid of the error "unable to determine page link" regards mark I am using linda's sec for ms2 and my hosting company migrated from one server to another now i get the error "unable to determine page link" when search engine urls is enabled then only 2 differences between the 2 severs are that the new one has php installed as a cgi rather than as a module and it is a newer version of php on the new server ie 4.3.2 rather than 4.2.2 I need to use search engine urls because of my search engine submissions any ideas? - kevin
Guest Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 It's an Apache setting. Something like AllowPathInfo. May not exist in older versions of Apache. You could also use mod_rewrite to rewrite the URLs, instead of the osCommerce code. This would allow you to turn off SEF URLs in osCommerce. Hth, Matt
sgflowers Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Thanks matt, I just turned off sef in osc to fix it i needed the site up asap hopefully google will crawl it again ok one other issue I am wondering if you have any idea... my site is now running on a cgi version of php b4 it was on a server running php as an api module email is not being delivered properly some of the server sent email work some doesn't (it all worked fine before the migration) contact_us page doesn't work http://www.secretgardenflowers.com/contact_us.php also extra orders emails are not sent if you have any ideas i would appreciate the help - kevin
sgflowers Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Any one have any ideas if there is other issues with oscommerce (using lindas sec) and php installed as a cgi? One other wierd thing that is happening order emails before the migration came like: NEW - Order Process #385 now they are coming like: Order Process #385 i am using linda' sec for oscommerce 2.2 I have not changed any code the server changes are that the database server is nolonger set to localhost (i think it might might be a seperate server) and php is cgi now not an apache api
