Interesting Printing Problem

Can anyone out there who understands these things give me a little help with an unusual printing problem?

We have 2 network printers, 1 in the office and one in the stock room. The stock room printer has 2 trays, one with pre printed stationary, and the other with plain. The office printer just has plain.

What I would like to accomplish is this:-

When an order is printed from admin, a copy is produced from the office printer on plain paper for filing. The other printer in the stock room prints page 1 of the invoice from tray 1 on the pre printed stationary, if a second page is needed then this prints from tray 2 with the plain paper in it.

Sounds a little complicated but I'm sure it's not if you know how?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Paul,

If I understand you question.....

First you'll need to have the two trays set up as seperate logical printers that you can select from in the print dialog box.

Then when you print a multi page invoice, you will select printer1 (tray 1) for the pre-printed forms AND specify in the print dialog box to print only page 1.

Then you would print the invoice a second time selecting printer2 (tray 2) and only specify to print pages 2 thru n.

To have this all done automatcially would require multiple print files out of osCommerce splitting the invoice for multiple pages. Probably quite a bit of tricky programming.
