sdaris619 Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 This is a two part question... 1. When I first set up OSCommerce I installed it via Ensim's Powertools and set up SQL for (1) database. It gave me an ERROR: Max databases exceeded. I added another it it create a _store and _oscommerce database. Is it normal for OSC to need two databases? 2. So..smart me decided to delete SQL, delete Powertools, delete OSC and start over. I tried a few times and all I get is: ERROR: Execduting PHP script install/install.php failed. Anyone run into this problem before? My first guess woudl be to delete the site and start from ground zero but then I'm still struggling with issue #1. Be kind...I'm a MIVA person converting to OSC. <Smile> Steven Daris
Guest Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 Ensim's Powertools is not supported on these forums. The standard web based osCommerce installation is very simple IMO - upload the files to your server and point your browser to the catalog, fill in the correct details - there is installation help here: Wiki Installation Matti
sdaris619 Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 I deleted the site and did a clean install of both mysql and OSCommerce. Somewere along the line the files messed up and it was easier to start from the square 1. Thanks for the suggestion. It's now up and I've done two more stores. But I can already tell...I have a LOT more questions coming soon! <smile>
