hobbzilla Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 Just thought it would be nice to use the reviews feature of osCommerce for the developers contribution section. That could possibly cut back on some of the posts in the forums that just say, "Wow this is great... blah blah." and also allow people to rate it.. then wouldn't it be neat to sort by "Downloads" "User Rated" kind of like download.com? Just my 2?
241 Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Good idea, and how about a newbie section for all the initial questions that get asked over and again every day, that would also cut down on threads. No longer giving free advice. Please place deposit in meter slot provided. Individual: [=] SME: [==] Corporation: [===] If deposit does not fit one of the slots provided then you are asking too much! Is your Osc dated try Phoenix raising oscommerce from the ashes.
Guest Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Good idea, and how about a newbie section for all the initial questions that get asked over and again every day, that would also cut down on threads.Except that newbies don't know which questions get asked every day, so they won't know which to post in the new section. Just do a cursory look over the posters who start threads in General Support and Installation and Configuration: they are almost all newbies. Cheers, Matt

active Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 I think that the rating idea is great. Actually, the contributions section would be MUCH better if the search functionality was a little more useful. Right now, it produces very mediocre results, and is basically not even worth using. Sincerely, Michael G. Myles
