dbltoe Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 Here's what I need to do. I have three categories....let's use Records, CDs, and Tapes as an example. What I need to have is pricing that says...... 1 CD $9 2 CDs $16 3 CDs $21 and $7 for each additional CD And.... 1 record $4 3 records $10.50 5 records $16.25 and $3.25 each for 6 or more. And... 1 tape for $3 3 tapes for $8.25 5 tapes for $12.50 and $2.50 each for 6 or more. As you can see, I am unable to use Group Discounts. I've found lots of options if everyone wanted to buy three copies of the Beatles Abbey Road CD, but nothing that can give the buyer a discount on three different titles of Beatles' CDs. I need something that can scan the cart for a particular categroy and adjust the final price accordingly. Icing on the cake would be a popup that let's the buyer know that they can get a better deal by buying one more item. Any ideas or assistance? Pipe Dream? Possibility? Please let me know, john
Genius Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I am looking for somthing similar anyone found a solution
ssebeny Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Hi, I likewise need to do this. If anyone has a solution, please let me know! See: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84091 Thanks!
radders Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I wanted that too (or manufacturer) but went for the storewide discount instead which is simply based on total number of items. Part of the problem with the category discount would be determining what level of discount to use when the product is in several categories I would have thought. Manufacturer is at least a one-to-one relation so should be easier to work with.
radders Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Sorry I meant that at least it is not a many to many relationship.
dbltoe Posted March 25, 2004 Author Posted March 25, 2004 Pardon my frustration, but I find it difficult for Records, tapes, and CDs to be in some other category. Most every crafter in the WORLD has a quantity discount and it IS NOT for any three items in the store! Why is it so difficult to come up with some kind of if statement that peruses the cart by category to see if any discounts apply to those categories? john
