starlightprod
Hi, When i try to checkout it transfers me to another server which has SSL, now i have 2 problems with this which are the following : 1) when it transfers me to the ssl server, it asks me to login again, sessions are stored in the mysql db...everything works if i login 2) all the links are changed to the https server...can i change so the catalog etc are always on the http instead of https ? Guest
SSL requires that the beginning of the url be https://whatever. this you can not change. so no, you cna not change that. when you are transferred to the ssl server, are you logged on at that time? people can shop without logging in, yet when going to checkout they are prompted to logon or to register. you didnt state if you were logged in when placing the orders. starlightprod
yes i am logged on...add stuff to the cart... click on check out ... transfers me to the https server and it asks me to login again, when logged in it proceeds to the checkout form with all the items in the cart etc and works normally. about the https links... can't the url's be hard-coded so the catalog always points to the server without ssl...the reason behind this is that i have much more bandwidth in the server i don't have ssl in. so i only wanted to use the ssl server for the checkout only. Guest
Yes, you can hard code the urls so that folks who log in only access SSL encryption when they're in the checkout process. As a suggestion, set a global variable to "https://yourdomain.com" and hard code the variable rather than the url.
