Guest Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 try restoring your sql database. did you make any mods to the 'mysql' database itself?
simplyzibest Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 todd, something similar happened to me too. i shut down my machine, and when i restarted it i went to launch oscommerce in my browser. (i have MySql launch on start up) and i got the following error: Warning: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) then i went to MySql and found this error: MySql: Table 'mysql.host' doesn't exist the only change i made to the DB was adding the field products_retail_price to the products table. no other changes were made. has anyone seen this before? i can't log into my DB. i can't even re-create the data base if i wanted to. please please please someone tell me there is a way to fix this other than reinstalling MySql. many thanks in advance, elon
simplyzibest Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 todd, i didn't want to do this, and i think you probably don't either, but i reinstalled mysql and it fixed the problems. luckily, when i reinstalled, mysql picked up all the schemas i had in the pre-crash install. even the changes i made the day of the crash. unfortunately i have no idea why it happened. i can only hope and pray it doesn't happen again...especially after i go live. hth, elon
