Replace 2CheckOut w/ PaySystems, Authorize, or ?

I was going to use 2CheckOut to handle my credit card transactions until I reached enough sales (probably close to $1000 a month) to justify the expense of a merchant account. What I didn't know about using 2CheckOut with the default payment module is that customers are required to go to 2CheckOut's site and click three times before being sent back to my site to complete the order. I am pretty sure that this means that a customer could get charged by 2CheckOut without the order being logged in osCommerce. Even if it doesn't, it at least means that I stand a high chance of losing the customer during the disorienting process. So, this work flow for the customer really isn't acceptable to me. Here is my question:

Would PaySystems.com be any different?

What is the best combination of Merchant Account and osCommerce payment module? Authorize.net? My bank pushes SkipJack, but, judging from this forum, that payment module doesn't seem 100% ready for my use.

TIA

I just signed up with PaySystems after the 5 day DDoS that happened to 2CO. I have to say a few things:

The 2co allowed me to have the customer enter their CC number right in my page and transmit it to PaySystems. But they did have to click a couple of times at 2co, at least acknowledging (3 times) that the transaction would appear as 2checkout in their CC statement.

Now, with PS, the customer fills his/her details (whether with an account or not, depending no your site's setup), and gets forwarded to PS's page, where they fill in the credit card details, click acceptance (also a checkbox where they acknowledge that MyPaysystems will appear n their statement) and get forwarde back to osC, which adjusts stock and send you an email.

The order confirmation from PS takes a while to arrive, but does arrive.

Another opinion: In just less than a week using them, it is already patent that their service/support is *way* better than 2co. They answer the helpdesk tickets very quickly and even have real-time live support via chat. A very nice service after dealing with 2co's indiference with their customers.

But that's just me and my first impressions, I don't how it will be down the line :)

Thanks for sharing. I may consider PaySystems for future clients, especially those without secure servers. My current client is going to stick it out with 2CheckOut until they either find the money to have me work on the SkipJack module or move to Authorize.net.

Since we are sharing, here are the results of a failed experiment. Apparently, the Authorize.net module can be used with 2CheckOut by simply changing the URL to which the transaction points. The hope is that the forwarding to 2CheckOut's site part could be avoided. No dice. The interface works, but the customer is still forwarded to 2CheckOut. Worse of all, there is no return to osCommerce to complete the order. So, the store owner winds up with a charge over at 2CheckOut with no order with osCommerce. So, if you are going to use 2CheckOut, use the it's module.

You may want to consider using TrustCommerce (my employer), which has a payment module integrated with osCommerce and doesn't require your customers to be redirected to any other server. The payment module uses an encrypted TCP/IP connection directly from osCommerce to our servers, so you'll get an authorized/declined response back in under 2 seconds. We're compatible with many merchant accounts, so you can likely use your existing account, or we can help you find a new merchant account with potentially better rates.
