Guest Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 How can I let someone add what they want to a shopping cart and when they check out then let them enter there info and email it to us. We don't know there shipping until filling the order and useing its weight for UPS. So we don't run the credit card until shipping out the order. So whats the best way to go about this? I am new to oscommerce so an info would be great help.

I has to say that there credit card will be ran before shipping, so they won't know there total but we could email them with it or something. I am not sure what I want! Any help would be great
Noobish-n-stuff Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 i haven't heard of anyone setting up their checkout like this before. Seems a little odd to me. is there a particular reason you don't want the shipping charges to be calculated automaticly?? I would suggest uninstalling all of your shipping modules, changing the text for that section to read like "Actual shipping charges need to be calculated." or just remove that section all together. Then modify your order total page to give only a subtotal and add a note sating that the customer will be contacted with the exact total via email within xx hours. I'd like to give you the step by step on how to do this, but it is very custom. I would actually have to sit down and try it myself. Hopefully there is somebody out there that can be more help than me. if you would like to hire somebody to do it for you, Wizardsandwar is pretty good and i don't think his rates are too high either.
