seaxouri Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 I am brand new to osCommerce, and am starting a basic online store website. Primarily we are selling food products, and I would like to add additional fields that can be filled in for each item. For example, the amount of calories or fat grams in a product. I really did not want to put these in the description area, because I may decide to use the values at a later date. For example, one thing we would like to do is to have predefined selectable meals, where a customer could pick from a list of recipies, and by selecting a recipie would dump everything needed to make that recipie into their shopping cart. However, I would like to be able to dynamically show the number of calories/fat grams/etc in the meal by summing the appropriate fields. Does anyone know of a module or method that exists to allow the addition of attributes like this? The product/attributes feature in OSC seems to be more centered around product options, and not product information (e.g. shirt sizes or colors) and how they may affect prices (if at all). I just want to be able to add new data fields. Of course I realize I could just add these to the database and code in new fields myself, but it seemed like a common thing people might want. TIA for any help. -Sean
seaxouri Posted December 5, 2003 Author Posted December 5, 2003 Any assistance on this one? I went thru all the modules, and even listed them in a post with what they did and how they differ from this request. Unfortunately, while looking at a GIF of one of the last ones, the launch of the GIF was directed at the web browser instance used to hold my post (this field I am typing in now), and when I hit the 'back' button, I lost all of my text. It took me over an hour to gather all that information, and I was pretty po'ed when it happened, but suffice it to say, I could not locate a module that offered what I was asking. Does anyone know of such a module (here or elsewhere), and can you provide a link to it? Thanks.
