Product Options as Text Fields not as Option-List

Oi! I'm wanting to add a few text fields for product options but can only find option-list (drop-down) menus which mandates that I enter pre-defined information for the customer to select. What if I want to have customers enter a note for the product.

 

Here's an example:

I'm selling trophies and I need the customer(user) to enter the names of the players that I'll be engraving on the trophies.

 

How can this be done?

There are at least 3 contributions to do this. The one that I have used is the Product Attributes - Option Type Feature contribution.
