Guest Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 We have installed and configured OsCommerce on our shared server. When we first logged into the ADMIN area it asked for the user name and password. But now, regardless of which computer we are using - in multiple locations - we are not asked for user name or password. It seems as though anyone can get into the admin area of our store... Any ideas?
mikes Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 osCommerce isn't involved in securing the admin area. You need to password protect the directory yourself. Many providors use cpanel or some similar interface to allow their users to do this easily. Check their website for details. When you enter a password protected site, your computer may remember and re-enter username/password info for you. If you have already set up a password and "remembered passwords" doesn't seem to be what's going on, you will need to contact your providor. hth
