V0ltage Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 I'm setting up a shop using ms2-max and stumbled upon an issue regarding packs of products. This company sells individual party supplies, as well as "party packs" which is just a package of the individual party supplies. If one of these "party packs" is sold, how can we have it automagically reduce the quantity of the individual product stock in the catalog? I've browsed the contribution list and have come up with nothing in this regard.
Aalst Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 I have a similar situation with my store, how I solved this was I physically created these "Packages" and pre baged or packaged them. Then they are a quanity of one for the package, the single items available quanity shows how many are instock that are not part of the package. This is great if you know you sell alot of your packages, and that way they are really instock. Otherwise if you run out of a single item then a package is order you cannot fill the package order until the single item is back in stock. Therefore your package is not really instock. The down side is that now if a single item is out of stock you show it as out of stock but you do have some in the packages. You need to find out what is more important and find a balance between your needs and what is easier for you and still providing value to your customers.
