djtaverner Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 Hello, I am looking to use oscommerce on an online shopping site. I would like to incorporate a content management system so that my client can update the content of the store automatically. Can this be done with oscommerce? Can I use the Plone (by zope) content manager in conjunction with oscommerce? cheers Dave Taverner
Aalst Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 OSC Can do anything, it just may require some custom programming to get it done. If Plone doesn't come with any instructions or modules for OSC integration then you would have to do it yourself or hire someone to do it. You have clients that need to update content of your store? This in itself seems strange to me. Have you checked to see if Plone has any Online Store modules provided by its community? Also PHP-Nuke is a CMS and it does have several store add-ons for it. However there are some OSC Contribs you may want to look at: C M S for OSCOMMERCE This is a Simple CMS attempt for OSC Backends RSS This allows you to add OSC information in CMS programs like PostNuke, PHP-Nuke, etc. Over an above those there are several others that when used together can provide several CMS type features.
