Rob Watton Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 Hi I run a version of the OSCommerce site at www.replicamodels.co.uk and would like to know if any of the following facilities are available as standard or as contributions ? 1. Pop-up adverts (when a visitor loads the store or a specific area of the store a pop-up advert could be displayed, all controlled within the admin module of the store) 2. Can you enter all your products in at cost price and then have a facility for the store to automatically add on your markup (% or fixed amount). This would be much easier to change all the costs of istems either up or down. 3. Is there a "SALE" facility that allows you to run "New Year Sales" on your items for limited periods. 4. If a customer cancels an order, is there a facility to capture the reason for the order cancellation. If these are not avaiable, can I put them forward as suggestions for future enhancements. Regards Rob.
Rob Watton Posted November 29, 2003 Author Posted November 29, 2003 Also Does OSCommerce send emails to the site admin when some purchases an item and that item then gets to zero or its re-order value (assuming that feature is also available) Regards Rob. (looking forward to someone adding these features in) Regards Rob.
Guest Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 Rob, I sent you an email describing the things you asked... Also if you are going to use index_shop.php for your catalog main page then you need to go into /includes/configure.php and change the catalog path... I would suggest that you reload all and use the catalog file structure that was in place.... and then have your main page direct to http://www.replicamodels.co.uk/catalog your catalog links are pointing back to your main page
_pleb Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 2. Can you enter all your products in at cost price and then have a facility for the store to automatically add on your markup (% or fixed amount). This would be much easier to change all the costs of istems either up or down. I'm curious about this now you've mentioned it, that'd be a really useful addition/contribution. Anyone know of a way to do it?
Guest Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 you can use a mod called SaleMaker 2.2MS2v1.01 then you put your products in at full retail and you can adjust your prices at the touch of a button.....one item, catagory, whole store or just items in a certain price range.......
Rob Watton Posted December 2, 2003 Author Posted December 2, 2003 Merlin Thanks for the reply. That mod would be great but it would be a lot easier to enter the items at cost price and entering them in at Retail assumes and then make a discount through the Sales mod assumes you make the same markup on all items and in some cases that is not so. Ideally I am looking for a mod that allows items to be entered at cost and then applys a %/fixed markup and then if required the sale mod could reduce this retail figure by the required amount. Rob. Regards Rob.
