jakecarey
I am VERY new to osCommerce and would very much like to figure out how to use it. Can someone please tell me how I can get the USPS shipping module to work. I have an account already set up, now I just need to get it to show it. Guest
Jake, If you've already set up a free account with the USPS, contact them, either by phone or email and inform them that you need to switch to production. I'm GUESSING that you've already done this? (set up account) If they ask if you've tested it yet, just tell them that you are using OS Commerce and the application has already undergone testing. Best of Luck!
jakecarey
Thanks for the help. I've already set up the account with USPS. My problem is in the actual admin of the osCommerce shopping cart. When I go to osCommerce/admin/modules and click on shipping and then click on United States Postal Service, it says that my status is red and the message to the right is "You will need to have aregistered an account with USPS at http://www.usprioritymail.com/et_regcert.html to use this module. I already did that, so how do I change the status to active and set it up. Also, how do i start taking credit cards. I already have a merchant account. Thank you very much. I am not afraid of talking to someone on the phone if someone is will to let me call them. Jake
jakecarey
Okay, I figured it out, now I get the error occured with the ups shipping calculations error message. What am I forgetting. Also, if I already have a merchant account, is there a way to use that instead of authorize.net or any of the others? Jake

Jake You better run along and look elsewhere or get a qwk understanding of php. I have NEVER got an answer to a question here (thank god I didnt have to pay for the product) and I have been a member for MONTHS now. You're on your own. My best suggestion is to read as many related posts as you can to find ppl that have or have had similar problems and what they did to fix it. I have already learned that this is a 'self-help' forum. good luck! .
polaris
Try this contribution: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,487 This is the one I am currently using and it works great for me. The detailed installation guid is in the contributions. Read carefully, and follow what it says. That is all you need. It is evil not backing up your database and all files before make any changes to your online store. I could not agree more. I have never found a answer that actually solved my problem. Some of them gone answered, at least half of them. Some of them got some answer that I have to figure out a way myself but I do get a hint on the direction. If you stuck, feel free to E-mail me, I will help you through this issue. I am not sure if I am allowed to give out my E-mail address here. So just click my user ID, you can send me an E-mail from there.
