Minimum order for payment module

I'm thinking about making a couple of my payment methods unavailable smaller orders.

 

As an example, I would like to hide the money order payment method for orders totally under ?50.

 

Has anyone done anything similar? I haven't really looked at the payment modules too much so am not sure how much work this would be.
