♥MYC267 Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 Is there a contribution or something that integrates OSC nicely with one of the popular open source forums currently available? Dan
jrwrestling Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 osCommerce does not have template sets. You can install a major add-on called Simple Template System (or STS) Search for it in the contribution section.
Guest Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 I'm assuming that you mean functionality wise rather than appearcance wise. There are two contributions of which I know, one for phpBB and another for IPB. I don't know how current the phpBB one is. Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of the contributions, just that they exist. Better integrations should pop up after MS3 is feature locked. Part of the point of shifting to class interfaces for sessions and login was to make it easier to make modules that interface with code from other software. For that matter, the new template structure might make it easier to convert other templates to osC as well. Hth, Matt
♥MYC267 Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 I am using a heavily modded MS2 with my own custom modifications as well. I don't think converting to MS3 is going to be straight forward. But yes Matt you know what I am after. I am not after templating software... pffft please. LOL I am after a mod that integrates OSC with a forum so that my customers don't have to create a forum login etc... Dan
wizardsandwars Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I believe that there are a couple of integrated forums in the contributions section, but none are as advanced as phpBB or invision. There are a couple of contributions that integrate those forums, but not the login for them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
♥MYC267 Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 ahhh ok... yer that's what I am after... something that intregrates properly.... completely. Dan
wizardsandwars Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 Well, like I said, there are at least 2 contributions that completly integrate the forum into OSC, logins included. But one of the fourms is a homeade jobbie, and the other is with miniBB. It wouldn't be too hard to write somethign that would auto register customers into a forum like phpbb, but for phpBB, you login with a username instead of an email. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.
