List categories on main page

I'm looking for a contrib I've seen a few people using. What it does is lists all the main categories and subcategories (level 1) and displays them in a table format on the main page.

 

Like this:

 

Category 1

-Subcat1

-Subcat2

-Subcat3

 

I have used 'Main Categories' which basicly does the same thing except it also includes a main category image and doesn't list the sub categories in a list, but in a long line. I have been unable to modify this contrib to my needs so I'm seeking the one the others are using.

 

Any help would be great.

if im correct in my thinking here you need what i created..hopefully! >:)

 

 

i modified the categories.php file so that it spits out all categories and subcategories, i also included some modifications that allow you to change the way it works with the greatest of ease...
