jzee123
Hi, I installed oscommerce, after installing i went to both the admin and the main index page and i had the following problem with both of them. The pages i'm talking about are 'catalog/admin/index.php' and '/catalog/index.php' Both pages initially load fine when i go to them but if i clink on any link that links to a page in the 'catalog' file the new page will not load. And after it doesnt load when i try to return to the original page(/catalog/admin/index.php) which had loaded fine before clicking a link, the original page will not load again until i restart my browser. I'm left hanging, staring at a blank browser unable to configure my shopping cart. Any ideas why this would happen? Thanks
bike36739
Well I can't say I have found the source of this problem or know how to fix it but I am having the exact same problem. Can you go to pages directly such as http://www.your-domain.com/catalog/shipping.php On my site the page will load just fine but then once again all link lead to nothing. Hope it helps, let me know Shaheen

misohoni
same problem as me. I just wrote a question on this board and am waiting for a reply. Did you follow http://wiki.oscommerce.com/helpInstallNew in the first instance and make sure the items are CHMOD'd? I think it's to do with the PHP version on your server. I don't think PHP3 is supported well by OSC, so you may have to change hosts of get the latest version installed. I was able to install the catalog on my site successfully, but now trying it on a client's server and it's buggy.... Good luck!
bike36739
From what I have found out it seems that most people experiencing this problem have godaddy.com as their web hosting provider. I think it has to do with the fact that godaddy or whatever else server are disabling some php functions that are essential for sending variable from page to page. Im not entirely sure but I am still trying to work it out???
jzee123
I use godaddy as my hosting company... guess it might be time to look for a new web host, wish i hadnt signed that year lease with them. thanks for the info
