Adding a new box (and renaming it?)

Hello to all Forum members... first up.. Distraekt Online - My Store

Here's my question. I want to add new boxes to the left_column and right_column.

I have successfully added a box to my left column, called links.php. But my problem is to rename this box to 'links'. sounds quite simple, but i am not sure which code to alter to bring about this change.

I have already entered a 'define' in english.php..

// links box text in includes/boxes/links.php

define('BOX_HEADING_LINKS', 'Links');

..but this does not seem to do the trick. I must be missing something simple here, and would much appreciate the knowledge of someone in the know..

Thanks again.. :D

In your links.php file that is in your boxes directory make sure to change

<?php
 $info_box_contents = array();
 $info_box_contents[] = array('align' => 'left',
                              'text'  => BOX_HEADING_INFORMATION
                             );
 new infoBoxHeading($info_box_contents, false, false);

to

<?php
 $info_box_contents = array();
 $info_box_contents[] = array('align' => 'left',
                              'text'  => BOX_HEADING_LINKS
                             );
 new infoBoxHeading($info_box_contents, false, false);

... if you want to REALLY see something that doesn't set up right out of the box without some tweaking,

Followed the instructions to the T.. but check out my store...

It remains titled 'Information'... arrghh!

I have changed the title in english.php for the box..

// links box text in includes/boxes/links.php

define('BOX_HEADING_LINKS', 'Links');

but still reads.. information..

what am i missing here? ;)

Gary,

This might be a silly question, but have you checked your column_left.php?

Check to see if you have two instances of:

include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'categories.php');

include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'categories.php');

You should have:

include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'categories.php');

include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'links.php');

If this hasn't been changed, then "Information" will continue to show in the new box (I think :)).

Of course, your new links box defines in includes/languages/english.php should read (or, however you want the link names to read):

define('BOX_HEADING_INFORMATION', 'Links');

define('BOX_INFORMATION_LINK_1', 'Link 1');

define('BOX_INFORMATION_LINK_2', 'Link 2');

define('BOX_INFORMATION_LINK_3', 'Link 3');

Hope this helps. :)
