jennyfeet Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 I had osCommerce installed, and I had about 50 items in my database. I needed to uninstall the whole thing, so I used the Admin "backup" function (which saved a .sql file), then uninstalled osCommerce from my server, and reinstalled it. I now need to know if there's a way to reinstall my database, which I have saved locally & on my server as a .sql file, or if I need to create it from scratch?? I have phpMyAdmin but am totally confused by it. Help would be appreciated; patient, step-by-step help is coveted. Thanks SO much in advance, Jenn
jpf Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Make or open up your new DB in phpMyAdmin - Under the SQL tab (to run an SQL Query). Then load that SQL file (cut'n paste or "browse" to the file) Select RUN or Okay..... DONE

I want to restore the DB into the current stable version (July 2003) Is this going to be a problem? Im also a real newbie with working with the SQL database......could you please provide a little more detail on the procedure? Thanks in advance! Bret
