PiGGiEE Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Is it possible to have a different picture for the small image and large image for the same product?
Guest Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Yes - I use this contibution: Small, Medium and Large Images Matti
ashlyn Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 You can also add an image as html code in the product description ------------------------------------------------------- I used to be insane, but now I'm just nuts ;)
PiGGiEE Posted November 21, 2003 Author Posted November 21, 2003 I guess its not so much that I'm using a different picture for the product but the fact that when I upload my picture at 350x375 pixels... when it automatically resizes to the size set in admin (currently at 100x107)... the thumbnail comes out all distorted and stuff...
ashlyn Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Have you tried changing the thumbnail size in admin? ------------------------------------------------------- I used to be insane, but now I'm just nuts ;)
PiGGiEE Posted November 21, 2003 Author Posted November 21, 2003 let me try... i need to keep it at 100 max for width because i have images for the top of the infobox and if the thumbnail is over 100 then it stretches the infoboxes making it look all yucky... let me give it a try. :)
ashlyn Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 If you keep all your images to around the same size large, then they will all shrink down into the thumnails and look less distorted. (ie: make all your large images 400x400, even if you have to paste them onto a blank image 400x400), then if you set your thumbnails to 100x100 they will scale nicely. Keeps things nice and even too.. ------------------------------------------------------- I used to be insane, but now I'm just nuts ;)
paulm2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 I think: Automatic Thumbnail Creator v1.0 7/12/2003 is what you are looking for. Very easy to install and use. search the contributions, or read: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...20entry258348 good luck
Guest Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Personally I have just set the width for my thumbnails and left the height blank - this keeps the images from being distorted.
PiGGiEE Posted November 22, 2003 Author Posted November 22, 2003 Thank you everyone for the advice :D I'm going to try them and see which one works best. Thanky :)
PiGGiEE Posted November 22, 2003 Author Posted November 22, 2003 I had to quit at 10am in the morning and get some rest... been at this oscommerce thing for days sleeping at 7am in the morning... literally sitting in front of the computer all day long except to use the bathroom and the occasional break for food... though its frustrating to figure out everything and find answers to my questions thru the many thousands of pages on this forum... but the feeling you get when stuff starts to work out is simply awesome. I'll look like this  :o <_< :(  sometimes but in the end... when its all done... I'm sure I'll be feeling B). The support on these forums is awesome...! Many thanks!
PiGGiEE Posted November 22, 2003 Author Posted November 22, 2003 Yes - I use this contibution: Small, Medium and Large Images Matti I used this contribution like you recommended and it works perfect. I tried all the other methods mentioned above but for some reason it was still getting distorted. This contribution made it very easy to add different sized images and that way I know that the images will be displayed exactly the same as the uploaded image I used for each one. Thank you all for your advice! Thanks Matti!
