UPS and USPS rates are incorrect

The rates on the shopping cart for UPS and USPS are being calculated incorrectly and inconsistently across different mailing options.

 

I attempted the fix of changing "package tare wt" to zero and that was okay for "parcel post" but then when you ship a larger package the rates were different between the shopping cart and the UPS calculation webpage.

 

Does anyone have a better solution.

 

Right now, this package is useless to me, if I can not calculate the right shipping charges and then get charged by the carrier at a different rate.

"The esteemed and valued osC development team has not made any public pronouncement that a new UPS shipping module is planned. I have threatened to implement it during the past six months, but have not been able to devote the time necessary.

If all of the above is true and the osCommerce shopping cart module is still pointing to the old http: link above, the the osCommerce shopping cart is useless to me. I will be charging my customers incorrectly and when I reporting to the IRS will be off.

 

This is a huge bug. Where in the code does this happen, so that I can verify the link?

 

Could someone please give me a workaround.

Well, I looked at the ups.php module and sure enough it is pointing to the link that UPS says we should not be pointing to, because it is old and that makes the osCommerce UPS rates old and very wrong.

 

UPS gives the right code on it's site, but I have not found it yet to update the osCommerce site.

 

Anybody looking into this? This is very very bad.
