m190677s
LS, (<- thats latin for those who dont know) We have a "packaged" webshop running on our server, but to be honest it is to limited and has to many problems (scripts that dont work), so a friend of mine told OSCOMMERCE would be the most unlimited way to create a webshop. However since i have no clew how to install OSCOMMERCE and a install.exe of setup.exe is missing from the zipfile, i would like to ask you all how i can get this to work. The goal of this is to create a webshop which can be runned by our parttime workers, they can type and select images to add, to the webshop but dont know how php/mysql/html work. So it has to be very simple. So when i am sitting in the sun enjoying a nice cocktail i am not bothered with phonecalls of my workers i can't get this or that script to work. Hope someone can help, Best regards, -=M=-
mortsahl
There are really only 2 answers for "how i can get this to work". Dive in and figure it out yourself or hire a consultant. osCommerce is a very easy product to deal with if you have any programming experience. If you don't it can be intimidating. If you're a non-programmer but want to learn -- dive it, it's a great learning experience. If you only care for the end results, hire a consultant. You'll have to make an investment -- either in time or money, your choice.
jpf
Can you say RTFM! Read the flipping manual! This is a PHP script files - there is no "EXE" file. Unzip and setup the way you want - remove the "EXTRA" folder if not needed - then FTP the whole catalog folder to your server... See the "INSTALL" text file in the package!!! Or See: http://wiki.oscommerce.com/docsInstallNew for a step by step installation. Good Luck
