hypnotiks Posted November 20, 2003 Posted November 20, 2003 HI, I AM A ROOKIE TO THIS OS COMMERCE OK....HERE IT GOES I AM USING IPOWERWEB FOR MY HOSTING THEY HAD OS COMMERCE UNDER THEIR ECOMMERCE LINK, IT LET ME CREATE A STORE ....BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL INDEX FILE , OR WHERE IS THAT DIRECTORY ...THE ONLY THINK IT LETS ME DO IS CHANGE PRODUCTS, BUT NO TEXT AND I CANT FIND THE INDEX FILE TO EDIT IT.... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO EVEN START THIS OR GUIDE ME .. THANK YOU.
Guest Posted November 20, 2003 Posted November 20, 2003 Firstly... you shouldnt type in all CAPS... its rude. You need to find a file called either index.php or default.php It is most likely in a folder called catalog.

Guest Posted November 20, 2003 Posted November 20, 2003 I did the same thing with Ipowerweb, and eventually decided to install OSC manually... in my humble opinion, my install is easyier to work with than the standard version of OSC that IPW supplies... you can download the latest version of OSC from the download link at the top of this page, unzip the folder on your local drive and upload it to your website... You may also want to do a google search for the following file... OSCdox_IMG06.pdf . This is a exact name of the file and the same one that I have... it will help you with the installation once you get the upload done... Good luck! revised... I wasn't able to find any of the files for OSC directory structure or anything on my server after using IPW's standard setup... that's why I moved over to this version of OSC...
