The e-commerce.

PHP MySQL osCommerce 2.2 MS2

Recommended Posts

Hello people!

I have installed rather unsecure osCommerce system locally

just to test functionality of the shopping system.

While there's no possibility to access the shopping system outside,

I don't consider this as a problem while testing.

Anyways ... This has arised in certain way a bit strange behavior.

I am running the system under Windows platform (for those who are

interested, more specifically under Windows XP):

Apache 2

PHP 4.3.3

MySQL 4.0.15

osCommerce 2.2 MS2

Strangely enough, I realized this morning that PHP installation

of my machine has vanished, now for the second time.

I am not running osCommerce 24/7, so I switch off the system

whenever needed or when I'm finished the work for a day.

This morning when I accessed the localhost of my Apache

webserver, it couldn't find the shopping site due to disappeared

PHP installation.

Is there anybody else on the list who has faced similar behavior

under Windows platform.

Please note that I don't consider this as an urgent problem while

first of all the installation is not running under Linux server and

second, I have given full root access to the osCommerce system,

so basically if there would be a possibility to strange behavior,

at least I have given keys to do so.

I would be delighted to hear any experiences from others on

Best wishes,

osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 running under:

LINUX with:

Apache 2.0.47

PHP 4.3.1 (Zend: 1.3.0)

MySQL 4.0.11a-gamma

Apache 2.0.47 (Win32)

PHP 4.3.3 (Zend: 1.3.0)

MySQL 4.0.15

You should not give ROOT or Adminitrator privalges to the OSC...

The ONLY thing you should do is give the "IUSR_" - "Internet User Account" - read/write privalges.

Are you loading it as "http://localhost" or by IP? Is the PHP directory exisiting? Or Gone? Or is it just not loading the PHP services on loading your webserver?
