The e-commerce.

Redhat 9 & osCommerce

Recommended Posts

I've read a lot of posts here about how to secure the Admin portion of the program. Let me explain what I want to do, and see if anyone knows how to do it...

The Admin section comes up fine under SSL, even when I include a user password (.htpasswd). No problem. So long as I don't hit any links -- they try to come up in HTTP, which the .htaccess won't accept.... If I don't mind putting an 'S" at the end of every page I look at, it works great.

The catalog itself is working fine. I just want the ability to access the Admin functions remotely via SSL.

How do I make osCommerce's Admin section come up in HTTPS only? Is there an easy way, or will be editing a lot of header pages? I tried using the permanent redirect functions of .htaccess, which worked. It took 7 minutes to load the front page, but it DID work. No thanks... :(

I read some posts on similar subjects, but you lost me somewhere. I have run boards (BBS's) before, but I relatively new to Linux. What do I do?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...
