Help - Different Versions osCommerce and Databases

Guest

Recommended Posts

I have installed a version from my cPanel and I can find out what version it is. I also installed the latest version on another site. I did this to see if I could save the database and upload it to the new site. Well I guess it doesnt work. I keep getting errors in the admin panel. It is having problems in the Zone area. I just need to know if the version that is in cPanel is the latest version on the osCommerce site? And is there a way to pull the datadase down to import it into the newer versions?

Hi dv10.

In application_top.php theres a variable called Project Version. If that says:

osCommerce version CSV 2.1 - you cannot upgrade unless someboby helps you.

osCommerce version CSV 2.2 - might be possible, depends on the date of the files.

osCommerce CVS 2.2 MS1 - you're a bit closer, with minor problems with the address_bokk and orders* tabels

I know of no standard or contibuted upgrade facility - sorry.

Best Regards

olby

There is a perl script in with OSC that compares 2 databased and create and ALTER table that you can run in MySQL to upgrade one to the other.

Look in any package for: \catalog\EXTRAS\mysql_diff\mysqldiff.pl
