Removing Notifications from Right Column

Hi, can anyone comment on getting rid of the notifications box

 

I already commented out some stuff in: catalog/checkout_success.php & catalog/includes/column_right.php it seems to be working ok

 

I found a topic showing what to edit in account.php but it is a year old and stuff has changed

 

What needs to be done in account.php
