Welcome Text

Please help!!! First off, I've been trying to make a post for about 5 hours...this is frustrating...

Anyway, I am really having trouble getting rid of the welcome text on my website...I changed the two default.php and when you look at them again the changes have been accepted...I am pulling my hair out!!!

www.daisycandlebarn.com/shop/default.php

or if that doesn't work go to www.daisycandlebarn.com and click on the daisy in the upper left hand corner...

I am also trying to figure out adding more zones for shipping purposes and wondering how to get rid of the manufacturer and catergory box from the main page...

Thanks so much!! Any help will be GREATLY appreciated...I'm going crazy!!!

Kristy

All 15 of your posts have worked. Just take a breath. follow the above instructions.

look for :

define('TEXT_GREETING_PERSONAL',' Put your greeting here');

define('TEXT_GREETING_PERSONAL_RELOGON','Put your greeting here');

define('TEXT_GREETING_GUEST', 'Put your greeting here');

DBAGUY - I looked at includes/languages/english/index.php file and this is what was there - no place to define the welcome text

After my computer stopped locking up, I realize that it worked 15 times...but it kept timing out telling me that it wasn't working...sorry for the problem...

If you want the text that says, "Welcome ..." It's actually in includes/languages/english.php (in the three TEXT_GREETING defines), not includes/languages/english/index.php

The rest of the text on that page is in the define('TEXT_MAIN', 'This is a default setup...'); in includes/languages/english/index.php

  • 1 month later...

If I wanted to delete the entire line which says "What's New Here?" at the top of the site how do I do that without creating errors. I tried to find all references to it and remove the line but still get the text HEADER_TITLE instead of the Whats new. It's probably right under my nose but I can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated.

catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php - simply enter the following (empty quotes):

define('HEADING_TITLE', '');

Note - there are three instances of the define, so look at the file carefully :blink: - each display separately depending on which level of the catalog is browsed to.
