hi, I only just started using oscommerce and this is my first post. I have 2 questions:

How do I make the itempics not stretch out?

eg: I have a pic of 62*118px and the image settings (admin page->Configuration->Images) makes it 100*80px. how can I make it use the settings from my pics?

I entered the price for an item in the admin part (the grandfather collossus sword->15 euro). that worked fine, but when I watch it in the catalog part (actual site preview) the price says 0 euro.

here's a pic from the admin screen:

admin.gif

and here's the pic from the catalog screen:

catalog.gif

the image you see there (sword) is the one from the first question that I want to resize to its original values.

Did you created a new default currency?

In the edit did you put 1.0000000 as the value and then click on update currencies button ?

and in the catalog/includes/languages/english.php around line 36

// if USE_DEFAULT_LANGUAGE_CURRENCY is true, use the following currency, instead of the applications default currency (used w$

define('LANGUAGE_CURRENCY', 'USD');

Change it to whatever you need

I did both the things you said and it still doesn't work:(

this is what the admin currencies screen looks like now:

currencies.gif

and here's one of the items displayed: (notice how there is only the number and no euro sign or letters)

noeuro.gif

in the file 'english.php' I changed

// if USE_DEFAULT_LANGUAGE_CURRENCY is true, use the following currency, instead of the applications default currency (used when changing language)

define('LANGUAGE_CURRENCY', 'USD');

to

// if USE_DEFAULT_LANGUAGE_CURRENCY is true, use the following currency, instead of the applications default currency (used when changing language)

define('LANGUAGE_CURRENCY', 'EUR');

any ideas on what to do now?

I've written about this before and nobody has managed to solve this for me so far. The only thng I could do was to uninstall and reinstall. It best not to delete any osc sample products- languages and currencies till you have entered own products (1 or 2) - changed settings to suit you then tested to see if all ok.

I had this problem

I setup two currencies

one was called

British Pound - Code GBP - with usual symbols and value of 1.00000000

I set ^^^^ this to default

Tehn I created a second currency

British Pound 2 - Code GBR - with exact same details as the above currency

Then it all seemed to work again

Dont ask how, but try it and see
