Canadian Tax Zone set up

Recommended Posts

Hi,

May I ask a question re oscommerce from a Canadian point of view? How should tax zones and rates be set up to be recognized correctly at order time.

We are based in Ontario. I have set up Alberta and Ontario as 2 Tax Zones. Then for Ontario I have 7%GST and 8%PST, and Alberta 7% GST under Tax Rates. Apparently outside Ontario I do not have to charge PST. However at Order Confirmation time, I have a total of the Product amount, Ontario7%GST + Ontario 8%PST + Alberta7%GST for a buyer with an Ontario address! Seems to be adding all the tax rates I have for Canada

I realize my set up must be modified, but am not sure where as the Tax Zone Ontario is not picked up via a dropbox containing the zones.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

This, Was exactly what I needed also.

So many VAT/GST contributions, this was sooo easy to impliment, even seeing as I had commited one to my system already.

Lets just say no more GST on American Orders ;)

Thanks alot.

Thomas

The question is not, 'to code, or not to code'

the question is, 'if we do not code, are we really alive?'
