ARMYBARMY Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 I am hosting with a company using Fantasico scritps to install an old version of OScommerce. Is there a way to upgrade to 2.2-MS2 without having access to the root directories? OScommerece is setup in the directory called SHOP is there a way to update to the latest version by uploading the new files over-top the already setup cart? Or is there something else that I can do? I want to be able to add community updates to my store... but because it's an older version I can't do nothing without errors. any suggestions on how to update using FTP access to my SHOP directory.
Guest Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Personnaly i would delete everything in the SHOP folder and install a fresh copy of 2.2MS2 in that folder The_Bear
jpf Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 The_Bear - True! I agree! If you don't have root acces but to /shop/ only - that is okay. osC can install in almost any directory including in root - ("catalog" is only a default) As long as you have access to MySQL though your cPanel or PHPMySQL. Note all setting in shopadminincludesconfigure.php and shopincludesconfigure.php (root web directory setting and database setup and password) Copy to backup on your local machine. Now that is done - delete everthing in /shop/ Go into MySQL and remove all tables (don't delete database - just everthing in it) UPLOAD MS2 to /shop/ and follow instruction (sub in the instuction and notes anything with /catalog/ with /shop/) Browse to: http:www.yoursite.comshopinstall to start setting up your shop. Follow the instruction (sub in the instuction and notes anything with /catalog/ with /shop/). Good Luck!
