juliastore27 Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I uploaded all catelog files into host server, in the first installation and run, it was working. but when i navigated http://juliastore.p6.org.uk. i got the following error message. FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it! how did it happened? is it hosting company problem?
choctawChris Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 In the latest release of php, register_globals = off by default because it is a potential security risk but you can change that in the php.ini file. I presume the next release of osCommerce will not require this. I'm new at this but I would imagine you would need to speak to the folks hosting the site. jpf Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 If you would have done a search on this board would would find that this has be talked about ALOT. Your hosting provider can set your vhost to ON and allow this option - while dissallowing for all others. In short - ask you provider to change that for your site. Some providers are trying to use "strong arm" tactics and charging alot of $$ for this 15 minute change/correction (if there are slow). It should be free or a small fee only (like $5-10 max). If you have greef with your host - PM me for other good and inexpensive hosting suggestions (I don't get any $$ for this - just satifaction). There is only problems with this setting being on - ONLY - if you have badlly written PHP statements and no checking on input text.
