Guest Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I am currently starting to build a new OSc cart, and have a question. 1. Do I need to obtain a static IP? 2. Do I need to obtain a SSL cert? I will be using Authorize.net - prob. through Wells Fargo & do NOT want shared SSL. Thanks...
wizardsandwars Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Well, maybe. I think that authorize.net does have a way that you can direct customers to their webstie on a secure server to pass their cc info, however there is not a paymnet module written for OSC to do this. To use the standard OSC payment modules for auth.net, either the sim method, or the ADC method, yes, you will need a SSL. Actually, you don't *have* to, but then the customers cc info will not be encrypted. If you would like your own SSL in stead of using a shared SSL, you will neeed a static IP. Best of luck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
