hello,

i have 2 questions that i hope that someone can help me with.

I am using: osCommerce 2.2CVS

This is a shopping cart in progress - this is my first shopping cart & first time working w/oscommerce

thank you in advance,

:?: QUESTION 1 - STORE NAME IN BROWSER TITLE BAR

In the Browser Title Bar, How do I change the 'OsCommerce' & replace it with my store name ? Everytime, I modify the text, it breaks my code ?!

I followed the instructions given here:

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/faq,1-7/q,12

i went into the Admin Tool & Configured my Store Name - done with no problem

then i went to:

/catalog//includes/languages/english.php

i see this code:

// page title

define('TITLE', 'osCommerce');

when i change it to:

// page title

define('TITLE', 'TheCapeCat');

VERY BAD THINGS HAPPEN... this is the error message that i get :

:arrow: Parse error: parse error in /includes/languages/english.php on line 79

AND

all the headings (such as: TOP>CATALOG, CATEGORIES, SHOPPING CART, etc are broken ?!

:?: QUESTION 2 - METATAGS

When I insert my keyword metatags and my shopping cart breaks & displays the same error as shown above?!

I followed the instructions given here:

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/faq,5-20/q,30

when i editted /includes/languages/english.php

& inserted metatag, i got the same error:

:arrow: Parse error: parse error in /includes/languages/english.php on line 79

this is what my modified code looks like:

<snip>

// javascript messages

define('JS_ERROR', 'Errors have occured during the process of your form.nnPlease make the following corrections:nn');

define('KEYWORDS', 'cape cat, black cat, cape cat map, black cape cat, beachwear, resortware, cape cod, massachusetts, wedding gifts, unique wedding gifts, gifts for cat lovers, the cape cod cat');

define('JS_REVIEW_TEXT', '* The 'Review Text' must have at least ' . REVIEW_TEXT_MIN_LENGTH . ' characters.n');

define('JS_REVIEW_RATING', '* You must rate the product for your review.n');

<snip>

AND

i tried looking for: catalog/allpages.php but i couldn't find it

Check that your define actually reads:

define('TITLE', 'TheCapeCat');

And you are not missing the single quotes or semi-colon on the end.

Check that there are no spaces at the bottom of the file or blank lines after the ?>

Also you need to use the escape character on the single quotes in define statements:

define('JS_REVIEW_TEXT', '* The 'Review Text' must have at least ' . REVIEW_TEXT_MIN_LENGTH . ' characters.n');

Should read:

define('JS_REVIEW_TEXT', '* The 'Review Text' must have at least ' . REVIEW_TEXT_MIN_LENGTH . ' characters.n');

I got this same problem.

When i'm trying to edit something in my dutch.php language file (for others probably english.php) i'm almost always getting a error on line 146

I can't edit the normal text, i can't edit the title name of the webpage.

Isn't there something that have to be edited both sides? 1 on the dutch.php file and 1 on a other file?
