Live, still a work in progress though

still hoping for some sort of comments - anyone have time to take a look and give a little feedback?

It's a good stock layout. Here are some of my thoughts.

Yea it's dark but if that's what you gotta do, that's what you gotta do. I'd consider making the background image darker so it's more subtle and less distracting. Right now parts of it are hard to read.

I'd get rid of ALL osc stock images. Buttons. Header images. Catagory images. They just don't fit with your site.

I'd get rid of the DHTML transitions. They don't look professional.

I'd try to integrate the forum into the site rather than have the splash page that you have. The current splash page will turn many people off and loose you potential customers. Make the home page the main page of the catalog.

I can't read your logo. I stared at it for about a minute trying to figure out what it reads. There is too much lightning and not enough text on it.

Take a look at this site:

It's in your style, but it's more complete. It should give you some good ideas.

Good work and good luck.

cool, thank you for the input - the DHTML transitions were generated by my hosting company by mistake - I will have to look into that, but I am glad you said something about it, as I do not see them with the browser/platform I use.

That site you sent me to is incredible, gives me all kinds of ideas -- hope I can figure out how to do some of them ;)

the splash page is going away very soon, I kinda thought the same thing about it, I'm just not sure how to integrate the forums into the main site yet...

Thanks again for your time, the feedback is GREATLY appreciated :D :D

Yeah, that was a temporary fix to another problem, it's coming out soon. The host had a script malfunction and overwrote the entire site with an older backup, so now I get to play "catchup" with the changes I had made in the last couple days.

Perhaps someday I will learn to be more diligent about making backups, even when I am just making small changes.
