Unable to connect to database server! after installed

hello, I got oscommerce 2.2ms2 installed just fine, connected to database etc, using the web installer, and i looked in the database, and the tables do indeed exist. but when i go to /catalog/admin i get:

Unable to connect to database server!

did I miss something? what do should I do now?

Can you see the store in Catalog?

Can you see the store in Admin? (of course you can't get in to Admin as you've said...)

 

Both Catalog, and Admin have their own /includes/configure.php files that need to be edited here. Look at each of these files and confirm that the bottom where it defines the db server, login name, password, and database file to open, confirm that both of these files (specifically the admin configure.php file) has been correctly edited. If you can see Catalog with products in it, then it's possible the Admin file simply did not get edited correctly.

yes, i can see the store in catalog.

I edited admin/includes/configure.php, and now i can get to the configure page but whenever i try to go to something, i get this:

Not Found

The requested URL /catalog/admin/DIR_WS_ADMINconfiguration.php was not found on this server.



Apache/1.3.28 Server at linuxtorrent.f2o.org Port 80

its adding something wierd before the path. what should I do about this?

nevermind, i fixed it, just a few little things in the config file i missed.
