catalogue item appearing in more than one section

I have a client who wants to sell the same product on more than one catalogue page as he has more than one product category that features the same produt

 

Does OS Commerce allow you to sell the same catalogue item on more than one page? E.g. If I was selling printer cartridges, several printers use the same cartridge. But each printer will have it?s own unique catalogue page. e.g. The Epson 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 page will all use the same black cartridge.

Yes you can

If you check the products page in admin, there is a button called "copy to" so you can copy that product to any other category

if I copy the product over,

 

1. Will it retain the unique product code for that product?

The client has to keep a log of sales by product code for his suppliers.

 

2. If a price or description is updated, will it automatically update that product in all the categories?
