Cannot access to the admin tool after installing OScommerce

Hello,

 

This morning I've set up the version OScommerce 2.2cvs in my hoster environment.

Everything was OK until the last screen where I could connect either to the catalog either to the administration tool.

It works well with the catalog.

Therefore an error message occurs when I try to connect the administration tool.

First, I discover that your link is wrong (www.mydomain/admin/admin/index.php instead www.mydomain/admin/index.php). It's not a big deal, but when I use the correct path, here below the message that appears :

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

 

As I'm not an expert in database, please help me to correct this trouble.

I had that same problem several times and turned out to be an error on the hosts end

I was having the same problem in the morning but i solved it. Try this

 

There will be a file called configure.php in the admin directory

 

Go the last few lines and give the databsename,servername etc ....
