I think I have made a huge boo boo.

I thought I had backed up my database using the tool in Admin.

I was just uploading it as I had made changes I wanted to delete...

It didn't work... and now I cannot access admin OR the site!! AAGH!!

The error message I get is:

1146 - Table 'internet_osc2.configuration' doesn't exist

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

[TEP STOP]

Please can anyone help! I'm meant to go live in a few days!! haha!

Ask your host to restore your database to the way it was yesterday.

NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.

If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.

using yer ftp, look in the backups dir and see if you have a bu with the date on it.

barring that, use phpmyadmin to see if the db is there. But that doesn't mean it is not corrupted, if it is there is are a few utilities in phpmyadmin that may help.

If your db is safe, you can reinstall the store, then restore the appropriate db.

Word to the wise:

DO NOT STORE YOUR DB BUs ON THE SERVER

And it is a good thing to put what you download on a cd or zip disk.

HD failure is rare these days, but it can and does happen.

Thanks guys, you are dealing with a compete idiot here. Just when I thought I had the hang of it...

Sorry... just to confirm. The database.php file I am looking for is located in:

/includes/functions

correct? cos the date there is 06/06/2002 and this cannot be right? That is the date on my server version.

Why do I have a feeling I am barking up the wrong tree?
