Must I use escape quotes for updating files in file manager?

Everytime I update a file using file manager the page craps our on me and I have to have my host fix it. (boy are they mad)

 

so if I'm editing the text and I have to put in say 'hello customer'

i really should enter 'hello customer'

 

This would keep the code from crashing out the page? :oops:

You would be better off to just down load the file and edit using a good html editor.

There are some nice ones you can get for free that will do a good job. But if you have access to dr or such, it is better.

Before you upload the edit rename the old file on yer server. That way you have the original if it bombs.
