Poacher Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Hi osCommerce gurus. . . I am setting up a new shop and need to set the site to take orders safely by taking the customers credit card details, checking them to ensure they are valid and then processing the order without taking the money from their account. My client wants to take the payments manually offline. Can someone suggest the best way to do this? I am sure there is a good way to do so but for the life of me can't think of the best way. Any links? Ideas? Many thanks in advance Beep beep!
sefu Posted September 3, 2003 Posted September 3, 2003 The standard OSC Credit card module will store the cc details in the DB and display them in the admin. If you want a more functional module, this one is very handy http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1148
webdad Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Just to put the user's mind at ease, wouldn't you still need to use an SSL connection, even if you weren't processing the card? Ray.
Guest Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 It is recommend to have a ssl connection because people wont leave there personal info on a non ssl page ....imagine cc details! The_Bear
LadyBeth Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 Sorry to bother you, but I'm in the midst of setup and this is perfect. I will try it. Can you please direct me to the area of where I'll go to print orders? We're small so for now will continue to key all ccards by hand. I print a hard copy for the customer file in the office. I have only been using this program for a couple of hours so be gentle...;) Beth
mag Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 This may be what you need.. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ons,1170/page,3 It is in the Contributions section on the OSC Community page, Payment Modules, Fax/Phone Credit Card details The discussion is on this thread http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41159 It will need a little tweaking - see the thread for the _blank - remove the "> Also the fax form it produces needs a reminder put on for the user to hit the Confirm Order button once the form is printed (ccfaxby_form). Put the pages in exactly as specified in the appropriate folder and don't forget make the addition to filenames.php as per the readme.txt I believe Simon is working on producing the fax form upon hitting the Confirm Order button.
