Categories Admin Prob! Please help!

Hello guys,

 

I?m working on a shop with over 4.000 categories and sub-categories! I know this is stupid but I don?t know to do better...

 

I need the car and the existing models and the spareparts for each car.

For example

 

- Carparts

- Mercedes

- A-Klasse

- Model 168

Motor

Brakes

Light

...

...

 

I have hundreds of models with different models but the same sub-categorie (Motor, Brakes, Light ...) with different id?s.

 

Now I have a big problem!

I want to edit the categories and products with the admin-tool but I get a timeout error (30 seconds). A colleague told me osc read to many data sets from categories_description.

 

This is the mySQL data

 

Name: categories_description

Rows: 4334

Avg_row_length: 24

Data_length: 105172

max_data_length: 4294967295

Index_length: 82944

 

Do you have any solutions? Please help...

i am also making a car parts shop online.... and i also have the same categories and sub categories... but it will take me forever to do them all... is their a way i can copy the subcategories from one category to another?
