Ok my server is Linux and I have a https directory (not yet sure if its protected). However how do I install OSCommerce to go to the secure directory once the user enters the checkout area? My site at http://www.skateboardsnation.com/shop was installed as a secure site but when you click through to checkout there is nothing. Do I have to upload all of Oscommerce's files in to the secure folder also? Thanks!

Unless you can get your host to connect the two sites for you, yes, that is the simplest way.

Well what categories need to be in the secure folder and what in the regular? Do you need all files in both? I just want to make sure that I protect the directories and do it properly. Also I re-uploaded the files to the secure directory and it wanted me to install from there. Should I do another install? Thanks!

You need to have the bulk of the files in both. If you want, you only need to have the admin area in one. The simplest way to get this configured is to run the installation a second time; remember to skip the import database step as you already have it setup from the other install.

Btw, to save uploading images to both folders, it is worth at least asking your host if they will make a symlink from the https folder to the http folder, at least for the images.
