Plesk, shared SSL

Recommended Posts

How, if I haven't uploaded any pages to the shared SSL website, that's on a different domain, does the user view content on that secured page? I assumed it was dynamic content writen by the server.

I am trying to build an oscommerce website on a host with a plesk control panel. Before (on a diff. host), I never uploaded anything anywhere except my domain. Are the secure pages stored in cookies? The host explained that the SSL certificate is on a seperate machine, and that there would be a problem accessing the MySql database. I have no problem uploading the entire site to the http and the https servers, but would I need to upload each catalog item (images etc.) to both each time I update my catalog? Here is the breakdown of how the host is set up. Remember that the SSL is a shared certificate on a different machine so 'localpath' can not access the MySql database from the secured site.

URL - http://www.alienmagictricks.com

Path - /usr/local/plesk/apache/vhosts/alienmagictricks.com/httpdocs

SSL something like https://www.securesite.com/~alienmagic (diff machine)

I've seen many problems posted about using SSL with plesk.

Does anyone know how to set this up?
