I am so very new. I am on eclispe hosting. They gave me Free Merchant which wouldn't work properly. I now have oscommerce.

I tried to just change the front page and put my text in and crash-0, what a mess!

I there an easy way to change that Index.php file and put my store logo in with my information?

Thankyou!

Can't quite understand you.

Copy the files you want o change to your local machine. Amend them and ftp them back.

Sometimes you will need to clear your cache to see the updates.

You can post details of one change you want to make and by getting a detailed answer the procedures will become clearer.

I used the edit button in my file manager and it brings up a window with the code right there at the site. When changes are make you just click save and supposedly it goes right in. All it seems to do is crash my opening page.

I can't download the files, but I can cut and past the code

into a word processor or dreamweaver.

I can then do my changes and save it with the .php extension.

The file manager WILL allow me to upload the file.

Sound like a plan?

Don't know why you can't download the files if you can ftp them up, you should be able to ftp them down.

Well anyway your idea seems to a workable solution. Good luck :)

I read this as that he was using file manager (rather than FTP), which has an option to upload but no option to download.

One would think that the host would provide FTP access, but ...

Cheers,
